Call for submission of articles for AWCD members!

Do you have something to share with the network? A successful activity, an upcoming event, or a training opportunity?

Then we are calling upon AWCD member organizations to submit their articles for posting here at the AWCD blog!

Just follow the simple guidelines after the break:

What articles to submit?

• Updates of events/activities by your organization you want to share to the alliance
• Opportunities you would like to offer to partners (trainings, funding opportunities, etc)
• Upcoming events/activities you would like to open up to partners for participation

What should be the format?

• Submit it in Windows Word file format. Typical formatting (arial, times new roman, font size 11 or 12).
• If the article is a page long or more, then one should include a very short blurb (a short paragraph) synthesizing the content of the article.
• Include photographs as much as possible. We would appreciate it if you would submit photographs with the highest possible resolution from your digital camera, so that we can resize it appropriately for web posting. Sorry, cellphone camera  photos are not acceptable.
• Try not to submit blurred photos, those with insufficient lighting or poorly composed photos.

How should we photograph children?

·         The dignity and rights of every child are to be respected in every circumstance.

·         The best interests of each child are to be protected over any other consideration, including over advocacy for children's issues and the promotion of child rights.

·         If photographing a child in single portraiture, ask the permission of the child if it is alright with him/her that her photograph be taken and be posted publicly.

·         Ensure that the child is dressed appropriately, and is not in a sexualized pose.

·         If there is an ongoing case with the child, then do not publish the photographs

Where should we send the article?

·         Send it to ace@stairwayfoundation.org with the subject heading “AWCD article_name of organization” (AWCD article_Stairway foundation)

• Archive the word file and photo(s) into a zip or rar file (combined in one archive file)
