Stairway's Break the Silence Progam reaches 3 areas in Thailand

In partnership with ADM Capital Foundation, Stairway’s Break the Silence Program has managed to reach 3 areas in Thailand, conducting Children’s Rights and Child Sexual Abuse Prevention, Para-professionals counseling training and outreach/street work training for more than 170 NGO workers involving approximately 30 organizations in Sangkhlaburi, Mae Sot and Pattaya.

More about the training after the break..

The trainings in the 3 areas presented us with varied cultures, not only for the communities there, but also with the NGOs operating in each area. The experiences the training team gathered further confirmed our belief that the issue is universal, and the methodologies we employed can be used in various settings and cultures with some adjustments. The animations has been once again proven to be an effective tool which can be localized by dubbing, and feedback given by our participants confirm that the animations are something that can and should be used in their communities.

Interests have been generated, there are amongst the several NGOs trained, individuals and group who show the potential to be part of the BTS network. The main challenge would then be, on how to sustain these interests, so that these may translate into more long term activities and partnerships for child protection
